Pleated Blinds
Pleated blinds work the way the side of an accordion works. There are two types:
- Freehanging
- Skylight
Freehanging are, as the name suggests, secured at the top to a headrail from where they hang down in their pleats.
An ingenious mechanism allows the blind to be pulled down to exactly the length desired.
Skylight pleated blinds are specifically designed for use in conservatory roofs. They have both a top and bottom rail to which they are secured.
Lengths of nylon guide-lines are taughtly fastened between the two rails. The blinds slide up and down on these nylon lines.
This system allows pleated blinds to operate on sloping windows.
